By Megan Buerger and Jura Koncius,
The most festive season of the year is upon us, the time for beautifully decorated homes to open their wreath-bedecked doors for holiday parties.
This is also the season for fear: Fear of sending out that Evite for the first time, of setting up the buffet and of welcoming friends to your less-than-perfect home. It’s easy to dig up an excuse for not throwing a party.
You may worry that your apartment is too small for entertaining more than two people. Or your holiday to-do list is already packed and there’s no room for hosting guests. Maybe the gloom-and-doom economic cycle has you convinced you’re too broke to swing it.
None of these woes should prevent you from hosting a holiday celebration. In fact, everybody needs a party this year.
Our local experts share their secrets, such as using your car as a temporary party day storage zone or where to get the cheapest mini-cupcakes.
