Our Back-to-School issue is all about kids. So what better time to launch our third annual Kid’s Room Contest?

This is your chance to show us the creative space you’ve made for your child. Last year’s winning room belonged to Lesli DeVito of Greenwood, Va., and her teenage daughter Phoebe. The room featured twin beds DeVito bought at a yard sale and refurbished herself, along with a new chandelier and a color palette that incorporated Phoebe’s favorite shades of navy, yellow and pink.

Think your child’s room is charming and unique? Send up to three photos by Sept. 16 for a chance to be featured in Local Living. A panel of judges will choose finalists and a winner, who will receive $300, and then readers will get a chance to vote for their favorite online. Their choice will receive $150. The only criteria are that the room belong to a child in Maryland, Virginia or the District and not have been decorated by a professional.
