Another recommended book: ‘Bears Beware’

“Bears Beware” by Patricia Reilly Giff is a perfect book for younger kids (age 6 and older) who want to read about the exciting (and sometimes scary) world of summer camp. In this book, which is part of Giff’s Zigzag Kids series, the kids are going off on an overnight camping trip, but Mitchell isn’t sure that sleeping in the woods with crawling things — not to mention coyotes and bears — is his idea of fun. Plus, he has a tough decision: His friend Habib is going on the trip, but it’s also his birthday weekend. What Mitchell decides to do makes for a fun — and funny — read.
