Hey, kids, the holidays are just around the corner, and we have the perfect project for you while you’re out of school for Thanks­giving: Create memorable holiday gift wrap as part of the Weekend section annual contest.

The contest is open to all kids age 12 and younger. Entries will be judged in the following categories: 6 and younger; 7- to 8-year-olds; 9- to 10-year-olds; and 11- to 12-year-olds.

The deadline for entries is Monday, so get your crayons, markers and paints out quickly. A panel of judges will choose 12 finalists based on creativity and execution. The finalists will have their work published online, and readers of The Washington Post will vote for the winner. The winning design will be printed in Weekend on December 21 as gift wrap.
