Go to your Monopoly game and grab the “iron” token; it may be valuable someday!

That's because starting later this year, new Monopoly games will no longer feature the iron as a playing piece; it will be replaced by a cat.

Hasbro, the company that makes Monopoly, launched an online campaign to let game players pick the new playing piece and vote out one of the existing ones.

The company released the results Wednesday. The most popular of the existing pieces was the Scottie dog. The piece receiving the fewest votes was to be eliminated, and that tally was close: The shoe, the wheelbarrow and the iron all seemed in jeopardy in the last hours of online voting.

People from more than 120 countries voted, with the cat receiving 31 percent of the votes to be the new token. Others in the running were a robot, a diamond ring, a helicopter and a guitar.
