Amazing race? We’ll give you an amazing race.

WP Magazine’s sixth annual Post Hunt is scheduled for Sunday, June 2. What’s amazing is that its creators can get their act together enough to pull it off each year.

You don’t know about the Hunt? Welcome to Earth! Thousands of people converge on downtown Washington to compete in a race to solve puzzles scattered from Freedom Plaza to McPherson Square. The puzzles are tough, kooky and fun. The first person or team to solve the five puzzles and the merciless End Game wins $2,000. Second- and third-place finishers get $500 each.

The creators of the brainteasers — columnists Dave Barry and Gene Weingarten and author Tom Shroder — emcee the day, which will begin at noon sharp at Freedom Plaza and ends about 4 p.m. Directions, clues and a map will be in the June 2 WP Magazine, which is all you need to play. So round up friends and family members and plan a great day — and don’t forget your magazine.

Check out photos from previous years’ Hunts at washingtonpost.com/posthunt . And you can hang out with Barry, Weingarten and Shroder for a Google video chat Friday, May 31, at 1 p.m. at live.washingtonpost.com.

See you June 2.
