This historic former presidential yacht is now at the center of a lawsuit.
Guests wave from the Sequoia as it motors up the Potomac River. The Commerce Department bought the boat in 1931; President Jimmy Carter ordered it sold in the late 1970s. Lawyer and entrepreneur Gary Silversmith purchased it in 2000 and restored it. His financier is now attempting to force a sale. Matthew Girard
The contest is accepting entries in one or all of four categories: wildlife, landscapes, underwater and aerials. The grand-prize winner will receive $10,000, publication in National Geographic Magazine and a feature on National Geographic’s Instagram account.
