A reckless crime at a D.C. nightclub left the victim struggling to survive and his family seeking justice.
The Good Guys Club, on Wisconsin Avenue NW in Glover Park, is one of the oldest of Washington’s nine strip joints, operating since the mid-1960s. In 2007, a man who had been kicked out of the club earlier that night returned with a gas can and lighter. Vladimir Djordjevic — a 26-year-old Serbian immigrant who had recently been married and was putting himself through business school as a bartender and manager at the club — tried to stop the man from sparking a flame. Djordjevic was set on fire as customers, waitresses and dancers left the club. No one else was burned. Matt McClain/FOR THE WASHINGTON POST
