Army Lt. Col. David Cabrera is believed to be the first military social work officer killed in action by enemy fire.
The ashes of Lt. Col. David Cabrera, killed last year in Afghanistan, are interred at Arlington National Cemetery. At center, Cabrera’s wife, August, and their sons, Max and Roanin. Cabrera made a point of being there for the troops by being there with the troops.
