How to help rescue animals

PetConnect Rescue helps dogs and cats get adopted and be safe and happy and healthy,” says volunteer Jackie Edwards. Here are her tips for how kids can help animals:

●Organize a dog- or cat-supply drive and donate the goods to PetConnect Rescue or an animal rescue organization near you.

●Organize a dog wash, a bake sale or a lemonade stand at your school or church, or at an animal adoption event to raise money.

●Girl Scout troops can bake and sell doggie treats.

●If you are having a birthday party and don’t need presents, ask your guests to donate money to PetConnect Rescue instead.

●Ask your parents if you can foster a dog or cat.
