The beautiful and well-bred Jacqueline Bouvier enchanted the camera after her wedding to John F. Kennedy. After Kennedy was assassinated, Jackie became caught in a film reel from which she would never fully escape.
1952 Jacqueline Bouvier began her first job in 1951 as the “Inquiring Camera Girl” for the Washington Times-Herald. Here she snaps pictures of a woman feeding goldfish in a pool of water on the roof of the newspaper building. The water was to cool the printing presses, and the goldfish were placed there as a joke. Bouvier’s job at the newspaper was to rove around the city asking people questions and then taking their pictures. Family photo via Anne Harrison
