Rapper Kanye West proposed to his girlfriend Kim Kardashian at AT&T Park in San Francisco on Monday, reports E!:

Aiding in his effort was the field’s jumbo screen, which flashed the sign, “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!”

A 50-piece orchestra played Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful,” followed by Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo and Kanye’s “Knock You Down.”

Fireworks and Roman candles exploded into the night sky, setting quite the mood for one heck of a birthday present for Kim, who turned 33 today.

Swoon, indeed.

The stadium, home to the San Francisco Giants, was completely empty except for their nearest and dearest, whose presence came as a complete surprise to Kim when they poured out of one of the dugouts after she said yes.

Even Kanye had just flown in from L.A., where he was a presenter at the 17th Hollywood Film Awards.

Meanwhile, baby North is in San Francisco with her mom and dad but was not present for the proposal in the chilly fall air.

The Reliable Source observes:

Engaged: Kim Kardashian, 33, to Kanye West, 36, reports E! Online, otherwise known as the Kardashian family outlet. Thought the publicity-loving couple was already engaged? Sure you did – we all did. But the couple, parents to daughter North West, just made it official Monday night. The proposal was classic understated Kanye: Rent out a baseball stadium, hire a 50-piece orchestra and display “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!” on the Jumbotron.

Kardashian’s previous marriage to the NBA’s Kris Humphries was the subject of a four-hour television special feature on E! over two nights. After the pair divorced, E! was forced to respond to rumors that it had orchestrated the wedding:

“Any insinuation that E! and producers orchestrated Kim’s wedding is completely false,” E! said. “The Kardashians have authentically lived their lives on camera for a long time and Kim’s wedding is one of the many real-life events that the family has shared with viewers, from Mason’s birth to coping with their father’s death to Khloe and Lamar’s wedding.”

The TV Column

A member of the orchestra reportedly told TMZ that the celebration at AT&T Park was indeed filmed:

A member of the orchestra tells TMZ ... she was paid 4 times what she usually gets for such a gig -- members snagged up to 1k each.

She says no one got wind of Kanye’s plan until 2 days before the event. A contractor reached out to a bunch of musicians in the area. But here’s the thing ...The orchestra members kept the secret for a full 2 days. They did sign non-disclosure agreements, but you know how that works ...

The woman also tells us ... multiple cameras were rolling during Kanye’s proposal, so there’s plenty of material for the Kardashian reality show. We’re told Kanye has final approval over whether it goes on the show or not.

Kardashian turned 33 on Monday. West is 36 and has never been married. Their daughter, North West, was born on June 15.
