Best friends Bucket and Skinner bonded not only because of their silly names, but also because they must team up to make it through life in a Southern California high school on the new comedy series “Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures” (Nickelodeon at 8, 8:30). So while Bucket is the cautious friend and Skinner is the carefree one, the boys navigate high school together.

Tami takes a trip to Pennsylvania for an incredible opportunity on “Friday Night Lights” (NBC at 8), leaving Coach Taylor in the dust as major budget cuts loom for East Dillon. Meanwhile, Vince is relieved to be at the top of the totem pole again, and the Lions start getting ready for State.

Chyna forgets to study for a science exam on “A.N.T. Farm” (Disney at 8:30) and assumes her grade will reflect as much; therefore, she’s highly suspicious when she receives an A. And like the good student she is, she decides to conduct an experiment to see what will happen when she intentionally turns in a poorly done science project.

On “Say Yes to the Dress: Randy Knows Best” (TLC at 9, 9:30), Randy looks back at brides-to-be who come to the store and decide that price is not an issue. After a look at those super-pricey dresses, Randy also tells what everyone should know before they start the grand ad­ven­ture of looking for a wedding gown.

Cody and Dave venture into the woods of northern Maine on “Dual Survival” (Discovery at 9) and quickly run out of gas and get lost, though the two travelers get lucky when they stumble upon an abandoned truck that happens to have a supply of dog food.

A new wedding planner gets a rather complicated task on “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding” (TLC at 10) when a woman explains that she wants her wedding to look just as fancy as William and Kate’s royal nuptials.

The hosts talk about the new documentary about life inside the New York Times on “Need to Know” (MPT at 10:30, WETA at 11). Other topics in the hour include Greece’s debt problems and the animals rescued from Michael Vick’s dogfighting operation.
