GETTING THERE

KLM Royal Dutch offers one-stop flights from Washington Dulles to Cardiff, Wales. A taxi to Swansea takes about an hour and costs about $88.

Multiple airlines, including United, Virgin Atlantic, American and British Airways, offer nonstop flights from Dulles to London. Multiple airlines, including British Airways, American and Finnair, also offer nonstop flights from BWI Marshall to London. From Heathrow, take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station ($30; www.heathrowexpress.com) and then a three-hour train to Swansea (from $26 when purchased in advance; www.britrail.com).
