By Metro/bus: Blue and Yellow Line trains run to the concourse (Level 2) between terminals B and C. On weekend mornings, bus 13Y runs between Union Station and the airport. Free shuttles run between the Metro station and Terminal A every six to seven minutes. Info: 202-637-7000, www.wmata.com.

By bus: Metrobus 5A to Dulles originates at the L’Enfant Plaza Metro station and stops at the Rosslyn Metro and the Herndon-Monroe Park and Ride Lot. In Loudoun County, Virginia Regional Transit’s Dulles to Dulles Connector runs between the airport and Dulles Town Center. A one-way trip takes 25 to 30 minutes and costs $1. Airport stop is on ground transportation (lower) level, curb 2. Info: 877-777-2708, www.vatransit.org.
The Fairfax County Route 981 bus runs between the airport and the Tysons West Park Transit Station. A one-way trip takes about 40 minutes and costs $1.80 with cash or $1.60 with a SmarTrip card. Info: 703-339-7200, www.fairfaxconnector.com.
By Metro/bus: The Washington Flyer express bus travels between the West Falls Church Metro station and Dulles. The trip takes about 25 minutes and costs $10 one way, $18 round trip. Buses depart from Dulles at Door 4 on the arrivals level of the main terminal; follow signs. Info: 888-927-4359, www.washfly.com. When the Silver Line opens to Wiehle/Reston East, express bus service will relocate to this station, and fares will decrease to $5 each way. At that time, the bus name will change to Washington Flyer Silver Line Express. Service will be more frequent (every 20 minutes off-peak, and every 15 minutes during rush hours), and trip time will be reduced.
