For the 17th year, Travel asks readers for their best travel photos. This sampling shows the contest has some stiff competition.

Landscapes and cityscapes made many appearances in the submissions. These images did not take home a prize but are worth sharing.
We couldn’t ignore that many of the 1,500 contest submissions were of our furry friends. These images did not place but did catch our attention.
