Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld is offering family discounts on room rates and free meals for kids. With the Splash & Stay package, a family of four pays $89 per night instead of the usual $149, and kids 12 and younger eat free from the kids’ menu (one free meal per adult paid meal). The 1930s-era Mimslyn Inn in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley has a late-summer special: two consecutive nights’ lodging for a total of $225 (vs. the usual $258), plus two free tickets to Luray Caverns per booking. Several dozen hotels, attractions and tour operators on the Caribbean island of Curacao are offering special rates on accommodations, tours and activities. Deals include free hotel nights, free car rentals and tour discounts. For example, the Curacao Marriott Resort & Casino has a fourth-night-free deal (four nights’ lodging for a total of $919 double, including tax, instead of the usual $1,226), and WannaBike outfitters are offering 20 percent off guided mountain bike tours of the island ($30 instead of $38). For all deals, book by Oct. 15; travel Aug. 15-Dec. 15. The historic Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colo., is offering free adventure excursions, plus a daily $50 breakfast credit, when you book a room through early fall. With the Blazing Adventure package, book a stay of one to four nights for two people and get a free rafting, hiking, biking, four-wheel-drive or other outing per person. MSC has a sale on select fall and winter European cruises, with balcony rooms going for the inside-room rate and balcony superior rooms for the standard balcony rate. For example, on the MSC Musica’s eight-night Eastern Mediterranean round trip from Bari, Italy, departing Oct. 30, a balcony room is $649 per person double (normally $810), plus $30 per person in fees and taxes. Lufthansa has a sale on last-minute, late-summer flights to Europe, with one-way fares starting at $286, not including taxes. The best fares are from Newark, N.J., to Dublin: Nonstop round-trip flights start at $628, including taxes. Continental and United are matching; fares on other airlines start at about $700.
