Anti-Trump protests unfold around parts of country and world

Protests against Donald Trump were held from Washington, D.C., to Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, London and the Philippines as inauguration events unfolded at the Capitol.

There were reports of other protests around the world, including in Britain, Belgium and the Philippines.

In New York, a few big names were said to be protesting, including actor Alec Baldwin.

Donald Trump will be sworn in Friday during an inauguration that’s expected to draw between 700,000 and 900,000 people. Security officials said there are 63 demonstration groups, pro and con, also expected Friday. Follow our liveblog for updates through this afternoon’s inaugural parade.
