Pussy Hat Project aims to hand out 5,400 hats

Women from the Pussy Hat Project are handing out free pink hats knitted by women from all over the country.

“You really need to wear this,” a woman said to two young women walking by. They looked at her, shrugged and said “okay!”

Organizers plan to distribute 5,400 hats some with personal messages from the knitters and stickers that say “You are Beautiful.”

“I’ve crocheted this kitty hat to keep your ears warm and give you a visible presence during the women’s march,” wrote the maker of a spectacular light pink model worn by Steven Crawford, 55, of York, Pa. “Be strong in your womanhood!”

In front of the hat table, women are sounding off, telling a man wearing an enormous Trump head why they came to the march.

“I’m raising four sons,” a woman from Massachusetts yelled into the microphone. “I teach them to respect women and they better not grab anyone’s pussy, because it might grab back.”

“I just want to apologize for all the evangelical Christians that voted to put your lives in danger,” another from Louisiana said.

Later, they chanted: “We are unstoppable!” Another world is possible!”
