Trump will not attend Thursday’s congressional ballgame

President Trump will not attend Thursday’s Congressional Baseball Game, according to a White House official.

The game will go on Thursday night as planned, and some members had suggested that Trump might appear at the charity game in the wake of the shooting at a Republican practice session in Alexandria.

But his attendance would pose major logistical challenges for the Secret Service, which would need to secure Nationals Park for the event on short notice if Trump attended.

Trump canceled his day of public events Wednesday in the wake of the shooting. It was unclear how his schedule would be affected Thursday.
