‘Six minutes and 20 seconds’: Emma González delivers speech, then silence

Parkland student Emma González delivered a speech, then she stood, completely still, until she had been on stage for 6 minutes and 20 seconds — the time it took for the Parkland shooting to occur.

“Fight for your lives,” she told the crowd.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to gather in the nation’s capital Saturday for the March for Our Lives, an anti-gun-violence rally organized by survivors of the Feb. 14 school shooting in Parkland, Fla., that left 17 people dead.
