A 25-year-old man’s body was recovered in the Anacostia River Saturday afternoon after a two-hour search operation, according to authorities.

Three people were swimming in the Bladensburg marina, according to Prince George’s County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady, but only two returned to shore about 2:30 p.m. Rescuers found the body around 4:30 p.m.

The official cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, Brady said. Officials did not immediately identify the man.

Prince George’s firefighters worked with civilian boaters and kayakers, the D.C. Fire Department, county police and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission in the search operation.
