The Franciscan Monastery of The Holy Land in Washington is preparing Easter lillies for sale in advance of the holy day’s celebration.
March 30, 2012Garden Guild Treasurer Joseph Bozik prepares Easter lilies that will be for sale at the Franciscan Monastery of The Holy Land in Washington. More than 300 of the blooms will go on sale at the monastery this weekend, along with more than 165 palm crosses. The lillies are being kept in the Portiuncula Church next to the main church to keep them cool and in the dark so they hold off on full blossom for Easter weekend next week.The crosses will be used this weekend for Palm Sunday services.Linda Davidson/THE WASHINGTON POST
