Dog pauses to find its way: N. Rockingham St., 3600 block, Dec. 19. An animal control officer found a dog, with an ID tag, that appeared to be blind sitting in front of a yard. The 14-year-old dog was reunited with its owner, who lived across the street.

Rude awakening for raccoon: N. Larrimore St., 1000 block, Dec. 20. An animal control officer found a sleeping raccoon on the porch of a residence. The animal ran to a nearby park when it was approached.

Sought small coffee, mouse blend: Clarendon Blvd., 2200 block, Dec. 20. A Cooper’s hawk that was stunned after hitting a window of a coffee shop was picked up by an animal control officer and taken to a wildlife rehabilitator.
