Severely injured: N. 34th Rd., 4700 block, June 12. Animal control officers picked up a chipmunk from a driveway that appeared to have a pelvic injury. After consulting a wildlife rehabilitator, euthanasia was recommended.
Bird attraction: S. Culpeper St., 2400 block, June 14. Animal control advised a homeowner, whose bird house in the yard was raided by a feral cat, to use deterrents to keep cats away.
Sibling bunny dies: S. 16th St., 1000 block, June 16. Animal control picked up a domestic rabbit with two babies, but one of them was dead. The survivors were taken to the shelter where they were held as strays.
Adopt-a-Shelter cat: The Animal Welfare League of Arlington is waiving adoption fees for cats 6 months or older throughout the month. Cats one year and older are available for $70 (normally $100), which includes a microchip, spay or neuter, and some vaccines.
