Unrestrained dogs: Circle Hill Rd., 3100 block, Sept. 18. Animal control received a report that a woman had broken her ankle while trying to get away from three dogs being walked off-leash and that an ambulance had taken her to the emergency room. Animal control spoke with the dogs’ owner and discovered that the animals are not registered in the city. The owner was issued a notice to comply and advised to keep the animals on a leash in public.
Dog park incident: Duke St., 5000 block, Sept. 18. An animal control officer responded to a report of a dog that had dropped a tennis ball into a water bowl and then scratched another dog when it attempted to drink the water. The officer advised the attacking dog’s owner against bringing an aggressive animal to the dog park.
Rooster spotted: S. Eighth Pl., 5400 block, Sept. 4. Animal control officers captured a rooster while driving through a neighborhood.
Rabbit chase: N. Columbus St., 100 block, 2:30 a.m. Sept. 7. Animal control received a call about a dog that slipped out of its collar when it ran after a rabbit. Later that day, the dog was found and returned to its owner.
