An ungracious greeting: Murtha St., 200 block, Sept. 29. An animal control officer met with a woman who said she was knocking at a neighbor’s door when a dog bit her and its owner did nothing. Charges were filed against the dog’s owner.
Mailbag doubles as shield: Chambliss St., 1400 block, Sept. 29. An animal control officer met with a postal employee who said that a dog had escaped from a residence when he was delivering mail. The dog had chased him, and the postman had used his bag to protect himself from being bitten. A notice was left at the residence.
The sound from under the stairs: N. Pershing Dr., 4300 block, Aug. 21. A woman reported sounds of a kitten from her basement. An animal control officer and a Washington Gas employee removed a dehydrated kitten that had been trapped for two days. It was sent to a foster home.
