The man shot and killed Wednesday inside the stairwell of an Alexandria condominium building has been identified as Bradley Bostick, police said.

Bostick, 40, lived in the 400 block of North Armistead Rd at the Seasons Condominium complex to where police were called for the report of a shooting. They found a man, inside a rear stairwell, with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body about 5:30 p.m., said Lt. Mark Bergin, a police spokesman. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not offer any information on a motive or suspect.

After police arrived, a man fainted at the scene and was taken to a hospital. A short while later, a fight broke out between groups of people, but police stopped the melee.

No one in the fight was injured or arrested, Bergin said. It was not immediately clear what caused the disturbance.

There have been five homicides in Alexandria this year, compared to none in 2012, Bergin said.
