American Legion MARC lot closed through Friday

The American Legion lot at the Laurel MARC train station will be closed through Friday due to expected flooding of the Patuxent River, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.

Officials said there will likely be no parking at the station after Camden Line Train 845 departs at 6:45 a.m. Other station options where parking is anticipated to be available are:

-- Savage: From Route 32, take the Dorsey Run Road exit.
-- Bowie State: Take Route 197 South to Old Jericho Park Road and turn left.
-- Muirkirk: Take U.S. 1 south from Laurel for miles until you pass the station on your left. Turn right after going under Muirkirk Road ovrepass and follow the signs to station.

Laurel tickets are valid at these three stations, the MTA said.
