Turner Rd., 7500 block, 1 a.m. April 24. A female knocked on a door to a residence. When an occupant answered, she and two gunmen forced their way inside. They took cash and fled in a vehicle. This is believed to have been a targeted incident.


Fourth St. and Orchard Ave., 9:28 p.m. April 25. A man was shot during an encounter with two other males, who fled in a vehicle, possibly a dark-colored Ford Ranger pickup truck. The man who was shot was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.


Morgan Rd. and Alley 88, 8:43 p.m. April 30. Two females robbed a woman of her purse, knocked her down and punched her until her husband arrived and chased them. He caught one suspect and forced her to the ground until police arrived. The other suspect fled on foot. A Brooklyn Park woman, 21, was arrested.


Whitneys Landing Dr., 700 block, 2:07 a.m. April 28. During an argument outside a residence, a man stabbed another man and sustained a minor laceration himself. Both were taken to a hospital with wounds that were not considered life-threatening. A Millersville man, 18, was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and other charges.


Brandermill Blvd., 2:18 p.m. April 30. A man handed a note to a bank teller announcing a robbery. He said he had a gun, but none was seen. He fled with cash.


Hammonds Ferry Rd., 800 block, 12:02 a.m. April 29. Two gunmen wearing ski masks robbed a restaurant of cash and fled on foot.


Route 100 and Catherine Ave., 9 a.m. April 27. An off-duty Bladensburg police officer identified as Brian Johnson shot himself inside a police vehicle while the car was traveling east on Route 100. The car crossed the median and hit a westbound vehicle. The driver of the westbound vehicle was treated and released at the scene. Johnson was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Office of the Medical Examiner determined the death to be suicide from a gunshot wound.


Monard Ave., 1500 block, 12:28 a.m. April 28. An argument at a party between two males escalated into a shooting. The male who was shot fled with some friends in a vehicle toward a hospital. The police found them in the vehicle on the side of the road at Routes 100 and 170. The victim had suffered a minor flesh wound from the gunshot. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Two male suspects fled the party after the shooting.

Tyler Ave., 1100 block, 12:30 a.m. April 27. A male robbed a pedestrian of a cellphone and cash at knifepoint. He fled on a bike.


Annapolitan Lane, 500 block, 8 p.m. April 25 to 6 a.m April 26. A laptop computer was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Brightwater Dr., 100 block, 3 p.m. April 25 to 7 a.m. April 26. A laptop computer was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Isaacs St., 1-99 block, 7 a.m. April 25 to 7 a.m. April 26. A change purse containing about $10 in quarters was stolen from one of two unlocked vehicles that were entered.

Newtowne Dr., 700 block, 3:30 to 4 a.m. April 18. Prescription drugs were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked door.

West St., 200 block, 6 p.m. April 28 to 6:30 a.m. April 29. Pry marks and scratches were found on two rear doors at a business. Nothing was reported missing.


Greenbriar Lane, 600 block, April 22 to April 26. A black and tan 2003 Crown Victoria taxicab was stolen.

Howard County

Cedar Lane, 5200 block, April 29. A break-in occurred at a ground-floor apartment. There was no sign of forced entry. Clothing was damaged and placed under a bed.

Green Mountain Cir., 10600 block, 10 to 10:30 p.m. April 26. A plastic window well and screen were removed from a basement window. The screen was cut. Entry was not gained.

Hayshed Lane, 8600 block, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 26. A bike was stolen from an open garage.

Old Annapolis Rd., 9100 block, 5 a.m. May 1. A computer was tampered with in a home entered by removing hinges from a front door.

Thistle Brook Ct., 11000 block, 11:45 p.m. April 25 to 6:45 a.m. April 26. Cash, credit cards, computer equipment and a Global Positioning System device were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.


Washington Blvd., 6300 block, 9:34 p.m. April 25. During an argument, a male slapped a female and exposed himself to her.


Old Washington Rd., 5900 block, 9:30 p.m. April 25 to 8 a.m. April 26. A purse and a lunch bag were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a back door.


Dorsey Run Rd., 7100 block, 12:26 p.m. April 26. A 1993 van was stolen.


Bright Bay Way, 4200 block, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 30. Cash, a laptop computer, silverware and jewelry were stolen from a home entered by breaking glass in a door.

Coventry Court Dr., 3300 block, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 29. Jewelry was stolen from a home entered by prying open a basement door.

Town and Country Blvd., 8900 block, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. April 19. Jewelry and sunglasses were stolen from a home. There was no sign of forced entry. A resident said that he had locked a deadbolt on his way out and that it was unlocked when he came home.


Pindell School Rd., 7600 block, 9:25 p.m. April 25. Two motorcycles were stolen from a detached garage, which may have been left unlocked.


Montevideo Rd., 11 a.m. April 23 to 11 a.m. April 25. A fence was cut at a business lot.

Wright Pl., 8000 block, 2 to 6 p.m. April 27. A child’s bike was stolen from an open garage.


Linda Ct., 8300 block, 4:16 p.m. April 27. A green Dodge Dakota was stolen.

Patuxent Range Rd., 8300 block, 8:55 a.m. April 26. A white 1995 Ford E-250 van was stolen.


North Laurel Rd., 9000 block, 2:16 a.m. April 28. A masked gunman robbed a driver and passenger of cash and a wallet as they pulled into a parking space. The driver and passenger fled in the vehicle and returned 15 minutes later to call police.


Cross Timbers, 9300 block, 12:02 p.m. April 26. A man entered a vacant residence through a sliding glass door. Police found the sliding mechanism and the front door unlocked.

Hickory Hills Lane, 8600 block, 3 p.m. April 26 to 8 a.m. April 29. A gas range was stolen from a house under construction. There was no sign of forced entry.

Norfolk Ave., 9400 block, 12:40 p.m. April 25. Homeowners found a stranger sleeping on the floor when they came home.

Washington Blvd., 9300 block, April 30. An attempted break-in was reported at a business.


North Laurel Rd., 9500 block, 2:41 p.m. April 27. A white Toyota Tundra was stolen.
