Parkway Dr., 8100 block, 1:54 a.m. July 14. A witness reported a break-in at a house. The home was first entered sometime after 6 p.m. the previous day, and the intruders returned to transport items. A Pasadena man, 30, was arrested and charged with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, theft, destruction of property and resisting arrest. A second suspect fled the area.


Friendship Rd., 300 block, 1:45 a.m. July 17. A man hit a female acquaintance with an object and shot at her inside a home. The woman ran outside and drove away. The man fired several shots into the vehicle as she got inside. Police found a suspect armed with a shotgun and pistol behind the residence. Several other weapons were seized from inside the home. A Friendship man, 44, was arrested and charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.


Leonard Dr., 1200 block, 12:07 a.m. July 13. A male bicyclist on a trail stabbed a pedestrian in the neck, took his laptop bag and fled on the bike. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital in stable condition.


Bitterwood Pl., 3400 block; Brushyridge Rd., 8200 block; Edge Rock Way, 8100 block; Floating Leaf Lane, 3500 block; Ivy Wood Lane, 3200 block; and Scenic Meadow Dr., 8100 block, July 3-17. A rash of vehicle break-ins occurred within a two-week span in Laurel and Hanover. Air bags and personal property were removed from Hondas, Acuras, Nissans and Toyotas.


Fair Oaks Drive and Torpoint Court; Martock Lane, 1500 block; Pangbourne Way, 1400 block; Penzance Way, 1500 block; July 3-17. A rash of vehicle break-ins occurred within a two-week span in Laurel and Hanover. Air bags and personal property were removed from Hondas, Acuras, Nissans and Toyotas.


222nd St., 700 block, 12:45 p.m. July 12. Four male teenagers forced their way into a home at gunpoint and demanded cash from three other male teenagers. They fled with electronics. A Pasadena male, 16, and three Baltimore males, 17, 17 and 16, were arrested. All four were charged as adults with burglary, armed robbery, robbery and other related charges. A gun was recovered. Police believe the incident was targeted.


Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. and Berrywood Dr., 3:05 p.m. July 17. A dump truck hit a bicyclist who did not stop at a stop sign. The bicyclist, identified as Thomas Patrick Heslin Jr., 57, of Severna Park, died from his injuries.

Brightwater Dr., 100 block, 10:30 p.m. July 16. Five males pushed, punched and kicked another male. They fled on foot with his wallet.

Greenbriar Lane, 600 block, 2:45 p.m. July 15. Three masked people, one carrying a gun, forced their way into a residence and doused two occupants in caustic liquid. The intruders ransacked the home and took two cellphones. The occupants were taken to a hospital.

Sixth St., 400 block, 2:15 a.m. July 16. Three masked males entered a convenience store and took cigarettes and cash from a register at gunpoint. They fled on foot, possibly to a dark-colored van.


Annapolis Walk Dr., 600 block, 4 p.m. July 12 to 4:30 a.m. July 13. Change was removed from the center console of a vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry.

Breakwater Dr., 900 block, 10 p.m. July 14 to 3:30 a.m. July 15. Cash and a GPS device were stolen from eight unlocked vehicles. None of the vehicles were damaged.

Boxwood Rd., 200 block, 2 to 8 p.m. July 17. Three bikes that were chained together were stolen from the back patio of a home.

Dewey Dr., 1-99 block, July 14-16. A laptop was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Dumbarton Ct., 1-99 block, 11 a.m. July 14 to 8 a.m. July 15. A digital media player was stolen from the center console of an unlocked vehicle.

Georgetown Ct., 1-99 block, 7:30 p.m. July 15 to 6:30 a.m. July 16. Military pants and a wallet were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Georgetown Rd., 100 block, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 17. Four bikes were stolen from a home. A juvenile seen riding one on Bens Drive was arrested. He said he and a group of children had hidden them in the 2000 block of Bay Ridge Ave. The bicycles were recovered.

Hilltop Lane, 200 block, 11 to 11:10 a.m. July 15. A debit card was stolen from a wallet in a vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry.

Melrob Ct., 1-99 block, 7:30 p.m. July 16 to 7:30 a.m. July 17. A GPS device was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Quiet Waters Pl., 100 block, 7 p.m. July 14 to 8 a.m. July 15. Five unlocked vehicles were entered. Cash was stolen from at least one.

Royal St., 900 block, 8:45 to 11 p.m. July 13. A video-game console, controllers, games, a laptop and men’s clothing were stolen from a home entered by forcing a rear door open.

Victor Pkwy., 200 block, 10 p.m. July 15 to 8:30 a.m. July 16. A purse, jewelry, a checkbook, a GPS device and CDs were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

First St., 400 block, 12:30 p.m. July 13 to 9 a.m. July 15. A pair of sunglasses and a GPS device were stolen from a vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry.


Dorchester Ct., 1-99 block, 11 p.m. July 14 to 6 a.m. July 15. A 1985 Honda Civic was stolen. It was found at 8:45 a.m. in an overflow lot on Greenbriar Lane.

Junction Dr., 9000 block, 10 a.m. July 13 to 7:06 a.m. July 15. A box truck was stolen from a rental company.


Westcott Pl., 7000 block, 3:55 p.m. July 12. A boy and a girl entered a vacant home through a back deck door. Two juveniles were arrested.


Dobbin Rd., 6100 block, 2:30 p.m. July 15. A man in a BMW called to a female walking through a store parking lot. The female looked and saw the man exposing himself before he drove away. A Fort Washington man, 24, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure.


Stevens Forest Rd., 5800 block, 7:30 p.m. July 13. A man asked a pedestrian on a footpath if he could use the pedestrian’s phone. The pedestrian refused, and the man punched him and took the phone. He fled on a bike.


Cloudleap Ct., 8700 block, 10:45 p.m. July 11 to 5 a.m. July 12. A TV and video-game system were stolen from a home entered through an unlocked rear sliding door.

Cobblefield Dr., 8600 block, 2:30 p.m. July 9. An apartment property manager was trying to show a vacant apartment but discovered that the door was locked from the inside. A person exited the unit, gave her a false name and left. A wallet found on the property contained an ID matching the intruder. An investigation was continuing.

Eliots Oak Rd., 5200 block, 12:50 to 3 p.m. July 16. A digital media player, two laptops and a video-game system were stolen from a home entered by breaking a rear sliding glass door.

Endicott Lane, 5400 block, 9:30 p.m. July 14. A man kicked open a residential front door and stayed until 1:38 p.m. July 15, when a resident came home and found him in the parking lot. The man tried to force himself into the resident’s vehicle and enter the residence again. The resident used pepper spray on him. A Baltimore man, 29, was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree attempted burglary and malicious destruction of property.

Farewell Rd., 9400 block, 2 to 9:15 a.m. July 17. An ATV was stolen from a garage entered through a side door.

Flowerstock Row, 8800 block, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 9. Two bikes were stolen from an unlocked garage.

Phillip Dorsey Way, 9000 block, 4:15 a.m. July 12. A male entered a garage and fled with a door opener when confronted by the homeowner.

Tamebird Ct., 8800 block, 11 p.m. July 10 to 5:30 a.m. July 11. A screen and sliding door were forced open at a residence. Nothing was reported stolen.

Tamebird Ct., 8800 block, 2 a.m. July 10 to 2 p.m. July 11. During canvassing of the area after a previously reported break-in close by, another home was found with an open screen and evidence of attempted forced entry to the lock on a sliding door.

Tidesebb Ct., 8800 block, July 5 to 13. A resident came home to find an open basement door with a broken pane of glass in the door. A wooden fence was also knocked down. Nothing was reported stolen.


Dasher Ct., 6600 block, 7:53 a.m. July 16. An Infiniti G35X was stolen.

Stevens Forest Rd., 5700 block, 2:32 p.m. July 13. A green Acura Integra was stolen.

Windstream Dr., 10000 block, July 15. A 2013 Honda Civic was stolen but was returned to the location.


Riker Rd., 8000 block, 4 p.m. July 7 to 12:12 p.m. July 14. A jar of coins, jewelry and prescription medicine were stolen from a residence. A jar of peanut butter and a jar of sugar were left sitting out. There was no sign of forced entry.


Duckeys Run, 6000 block, July 16. A 2002 Toyota Sienna was stolen.


Dorsch Farm Rd., 1100 block, 6 p.m. July 16 to 7 a.m. July 17. Contractors’ tools and a refrigerator were stolen from a house under construction. Entry was gained by removing a wooden safety gate from unsecured French doors five feet off the ground. A vehicle may have been used to reach the gate.

Marydell Rd., 9200 block, 7 p.m. July 12 to 9:30 a.m. July 13. A pool property was entered. Chairs and trash cans were thrown into the pool, and a water fountain was pulled from the wall.


Guilford Rd., 10700 block, 4 p.m. July 13 to 6:30 a.m. July 15. Approximately 4,300 gallons of fuel were stolen from an above-ground tank at a commercial yard entered by cutting a lock off a gate. A large CAT loader was used to move two concrete barriers.

Sharwood Dr., 7700 block, 11:12 a.m. July 12. A male was seen kicking slats out of a fence and entering a residential back yard. He was about to kick the back door of the residence when a witness confronted him, and he fled.


Washington Blvd., 8100 block, 6:20 a.m. July 18. A 2009 Suzuki motorcycle was stolen.


Washington Blvd., 9800 block, 12:25 a.m. July 18. Two men kicked open a door to a motel room and fled in an SUV.


Glen Ridge Dr., 9400 block, 4:52 a.m. July 12. A 2005 GMC truck was stolen.
