Thornton and Gillespie Streets, 11:23 a.m. While officers were attempting to stop a stolen vehicle, the driver got out and fled on foot. He was captured in an alley behind the 400 block of Church St. Electronics. Jewelry and coins were found in the vehicle, some of which have been identified as recently stolen. A man, 30, of no fixed address, was charged with vehicle theft, burglary and related charges.


Aquahart Rd. and B&A Bike Trail, 5:11 p.m. Aug. 17. A bicyclist stopped in front of a boy walking on the trail, took the boy’s phone and pushed him. The bicyclist rode away toward Mary Lane.


Second Ave., 100 block, 12:13 p.m. Aug. 16. A man entered a home while a female accomplice knocked on the front door. A resident called the police and told the man to leave. The man fled on foot. A Brooklyn Park man, 26, and a Millersville woman, 27, were arrested and charged with various counts of burglary.


Marben Rd., 300 block, Aug. 20. A surveillance detail was assigned to a garage that had been burglarized several times in the past three weeks. A male was seen entering the garage and was captured after a foot chase. He was in possession of property stolen from the garage and is believed to be responsible for other burglaries. A Glen Burnie man, 19, was arrested.


Annapolis Rd., 1600 block, 2:19 a.m. Aug. 18. Two men fought over a woman in the parking lot of a bar. One man hit the other man with his vehicle, pinning him against the building. The man who was hit was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition. An Upper Marlboro man, 25, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.


Bayside Beach Rd. and Belhaven Ave., 5 p.m. Aug. 20. A woman was hit by a car and died from her injuries before help arrived. Right front-turn signal assembly pieces from a Mercedes 500 series passenger car from 1982 to 1991 were found at the scene. The pedestrian was not yet identified. The case remained under investigation.


Solley Rd., 8100 block, 8:49 p.m. July 18. A man stabbed a male relative during a confrontation at their residence. The man who was stabbed was taken to a hospital. A Pasadena man, 36, was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.


Disney Road, 4:26 p.m. Aug. 15. Two male teenagers threw a boy off his mountain bike in a park and assaulted him. They took the bike. The boy sustained minor injuries and refused treatment.

Woodruff Ct. and Severn Tree Blvd., 4:16 p.m. Aug. 19. Three male teenagers approached two juveniles from behind. The teenagers implied they had a weapon, took a hat and assaulted one of the juveniles. They were last seen walking toward Severn Tree Boulevard and Severn Road.

Bertina Nick Way, 200 block, 3:10 p.m. Aug. 17. A male asked a man sitting in a parked vehicle for a cigarette lighter, then sprayed him in the face with a chemical. The male took a purse from inside the vehicle.


Americana Dr., 600 block, 5 p.m. Aug. 9 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 16. A unsecured kayak was stolen from a dock storage area.

Americana Dr., 600 block, 8:30 to 11 p.m. Aug. 17. A shotgun, two guitars and a Mandolin guitar with an electric pickup were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Bloomsbury Square, 200 block, 11:40 a.m. to 12:01 p.m. Aug. 19. A wallet was stolen from the center console of an unlocked vehicle.

Boxwood Rd., 200 block, 8 p.m. Aug. 14 to 6:30 a.m. Aug. 15. A wallet was stolen from the center console of an unlocked vehicle.

Captains Cir., 400 block, 9 a.m. Aug. 7 to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 12. A wallet was stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking two windows.

Captains Cir., 400 block, 6 p.m. Aug. 14 to 7:45 a.m. Aug. 15. A sports bag containing personal papers was stolen from a vehicle entered by forcing open a window.

Forest Dr., 1700 block, 5:10 p.m. An unsecured bicycle in front of a business was stolen. A boy was found in possession of the bike in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive. The boy was referred to the Annapolis Police Department JOINS Program.

Janice Dr., 800 block, 12:01 p.m. Aug. 11 to 12:01 p.m. Aug. 12. Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Miami Ave., 1100 block, 8:45 p.m. Aug. 15 to 8:45 a.m. Aug. 16. Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Rogers Heights Rd., 300 block, 4 p.m. Aug. 6 to 2:40 p.m. Aug. 19. Property was stolen from a boat at a community dock.

West St., 1100 block, 2:30 p.m. Aug. 17 to 6 a.m. Aug. 19. Eight steel trellises were stolen from an outdoor storage area at a construction site. The trellises were chained together.

West St., 1500 block, 7 p.m. Aug. 17 to 9 a.m. Aug. 18. An unlocked vehicle was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

West St., 1900 block, 12:45 a.m. Aug. 15. A glass door was broken at a business, setting off an alarm. Police found a trail of blood leading to a male on Parole Street, who had a severe cut on his leg. Nearby they found a stereo system that was stolen from the business. The male was taken to a hospital. Charges were pending.


Dewey Dr., 300 block, midnight to 7:30 a.m. Aug. 15. A black 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser was stolen.

Howard County

Clarksville Pike, 12100 block, 8 p.m. Aug. 20 to 7:30 a.m. Aug. 21. Cash was stolen from a safe that was pried open in a garden center. All the facility’s doors had been locked, but force was not used to enter the building.

Trotter Rd., 5700 block, Aug. 16 to Aug. 20. An amplifier, a tuner, a washing machine, scrap copper wire and a tractor battery were stolen from a house under renovation.

Whitegate Rd., 6700 block, July 22 to Aug. 5. A futon, microwave and possibly a handgun were stolen from a home entered by breaking a rear sliding door.


Patuxent Branch Trail, 6:20 p.m. Aug. 15. A male teenager ran next to a woman on a trail and grabbed her arm. The woman pulled away and the teenager fled.


Green Meadow Dr., 12200 block, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 19. Three males followed a male pedestrian. One threw a basketball at him and hit him in the shoulder. The other two yelled at the pedestrian about his cellphone and ran toward him. The pedestrian ran into his apartment building. Nothing was taken.

Harpers Farm Rd., 5400 block, 3:03 a.m. Aug. 18. Three males asked to use the cellphone of a male who was walking to the back door of a gas station. The male took his phone out of his pocket and was hit in the face and robbed of the phone and his wallet.


Angelina Cir., 9500 block, 5 p.m. Aug. 19 to 12:29 p.m. Aug. 20. A bike was stolen from an open garage.

Bonnet Brim Course, 12200 block, 1 to 7 p.m. Aug. 19. A tablet computer was stolen from a home entered through a broken rear sliding glass door, which had been broken earlier in the day by a landscaping company employee. The employee, who was mowing lawns in the area, had left a card with details about the broken glass.

Benjamin Franklin Blvd., 6800 block, 2 p.m. Aug. 16 to 7 a.m. Aug. 19. Fire alarm cable, temporary lights, aluminum framing and window covers were stolen from a construction site. The cable and lights were taken from a storage container entered by cutting off a lock. The framing and window covers were taken from a flat-bed trailer.

Glass Tumbler Path, 10600 block, 1 to 5:30 a.m. Aug. 20. A GPS device was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in an open garage.

Green Shoot Ct., 12200 block, 8:35 a.m. Aug. 19. A male rang the doorbells of several homes in the neighborhood and entered one by smashing a rear sliding door with a lawn chair. A resident was home and yelled at him, causing him to flee. Nothing was reported missing.

Hesperus Dr.,5200 block, 2 to 3 p.m. Aug. 19. A man was seen running through a back yard. The resident later noticed a bicycle had been moved in his garage.

Hickory Ridge Rd., 10200 block, 1:26 p.m. Aug. 16. An unlocked vacant apartment was entered and used for drug use. Nothing was reported missing.

High Wheels Ct., 5300 block, 10:15 to 11:05 a.m. Aug. 20. A TV, tablet computer, laptop computer, clothing and shoes were stolen from a home entered by breaking a rear sliding glass door.

Jason Lane, 10500 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 9 to 12:01 a.m. Aug. 19. A laptop computer, a digital media player, two cellphones and a tablet computer were stolen from a house entered by breaking a window next to a front door and unlocking the door.

Lightfoot Path, 5200 block, 4 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Aug. 20. Jewelry, a laptop computer and a bottle of liquor were stolen from a home entered by breaking a rear sliding door.

Matador Lane, 9300 block, 7:21 p.m. Aug. 17. A boy saw a person’s feet hanging off the end of a bed in the basement. He called the police and hid in an upstairs bedroom. Nothing was reported missing, but a blanket that hadn’t previously been on the bed was found there.

Rain Dream Hill, 10600 block, 12:30 to 6:58 p.m. Aug. 21. Jewelry, bags full of coins and a collection of quarters were stolen. Three male teenagers had knocked on the door the previous day and one had looked under the door mat.

Snowden River Pkwy., 9400 block, 11 a.m. Aug. 10. A restaurant’s front door lock was broken. Nothing was reported missing.

Tamar Dr., 8800 block, Aug. 7 to Aug. 21. A vacant apartment was entered. A maintenance worker found a bicycle, cigarette butts, wads of gum, candies and fire extinguisher powder inside. The rear sliding door was unlocked.


High Tor Hill, 5600 block, 9:13 p.m. Aug. 17. A white 1993 Ford van was stolen.

Rumsey Rd., 9100 block, 6:51 p.m. Aug. 17. A Penske truck was stolen.


Hearthside Way, 7500 block, 3 pm. Aug. 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 12. A mountain bike was stolen from a garage that may have been left unlocked.

Washington Blvd., 6100 block, 6 p.m. Aug. 14 to noon Aug. 15. A push mower, a table saw, drill-gun set and a bag of hand tools were stolen from a construction site entered by breaking a window pane in a front door with a rock.


Troy Hill Dr., 7000 block, 7:47 a.m. Aug. 19. A black 2007 Ford F-350 truck was stolen.


Montgomery Rd., 5:16 a.m. Aug. 19. A black 2006 Honda Accord was stolen.


Bourbon St., 9100 block, 3:56 p.m. Aug. 17. A blue Lexus RX330 was stolen.
