Annapolis area, March 27. An Annapolis man, 22, was arrested in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of a child he had been hired to babysit at the parents’ home on numerous occasions between April and October 2013. He was charged with sex abuse of a minor, third- and fourth-degree sex offenses and second-degree assault. He was released on bail.
Franklin Ave. and Alley 7, 1:47 a.m. April 1. A gunman told a male teenager to empty his pockets. The gunman fled on foot with a wallet and cellphone.
Ritchie Hwy., 4000 block, 5:08 a.m. March 30. A male shot a convenience store clerk with a BB gun during an attempted robbery. He fled on foot empty-handed. The clerk was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. On April 2, a Baltimore man, 29, was arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery, reckless endangerment and first-degree assault. He was also identified as a suspect wanted for the unprovoked slashing of a pedestrian’s face March 13 at Meadow and Belle Grove roads. He was charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure in connection with that attack.
Crain Hwy., 1700 block, 8:37 p.m. March 30. A man robbed a pedestrian of prescription drugs and a cellphone at gunpoint. The robber fled on foot.
Ritchie Hwy., 6700 block, 2:55 p.m. March 30. A man robbed a card shop of cash and fled on foot. On April 1, a Glen Burnie man, 21, was arrested and charged with robbery and theft.
Holly Creek Dr., 3400 block, March 23. A gunman robbed a female of her purse, car keys and cellphone. A man and a woman used the credit cards at a store immediately after the robbery, leading to the capture of a suspect. A warrant for a District Heights man, 32, has been issued for armed robbery and additional charges. He has been linked to two other armed robberies, one in Howard County, on March 26.
Toulson Rd., 2000 block, 4:50 a.m. March 31. A minimum security inmate scaled a perimeter fence by covering the razor wire with blankets. The blankets were noticed by staff at 6:15 a.m. The inmate, who was sentenced in Prince George’s County in 2002 for attempted murder, was recaptured that day.
Forest Dr. at Tyler Ave., 11:19 a.m. March 31. A Ford Explorer hit an electrical pole, destroying it. The driver fled in the vehicle. It was found unoccupied on Rosecrest Drive near Roselawn Drive. An Edgewater man, 24, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a revoked license. Utility crews worked until 4:35 a.m. the next morning to repair the pole and damaged lines.
Madison St., 1100 block, 2 a.m. March 27. Two men knocked on an apartment door and forced their way inside. They threatened to shoot the residents if they didn’t give them money. They took a cellphone, hit one resident and fled through a back door. An Annapolis man, 19, and a Halethorpe man, 20, were arrested and charged with robbery, burglary, assault and theft. The younger man was also charged with drug possession.
West St., 200 block, 3 a.m. March 29. A man took a bag of chips from a gas station. An attendant inside a locked booth asked him to pay, and the man banged on the booth, telling him to come out. The man then attempted to steal the attendant’s bike. The attendant came out, and the man punched him several times. An Annapolis man, 30, was arrested and charged with robbery, second-degree assault, theft and reckless endangerment.
Burnside St., 300 block, 11:30 p.m. March 31 to 8:20 a.m. April 1. An unlocked vehicle was ransacked. Nothing was reported stolen.
College Ave., 1-99 block, 10 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. March 29. Cash, a laptop computer, a travel bag, sunglasses, a camera, a watch, a necklace and a ring were stolen from a residence.
Garden Gate Lane, 200 block, 10:20 a.m. March 30. A male teenager was seen entering a home by forcing open a back door. An Annapolis male, 16, was arrested and charged with burglary and assault.
Market Space, 1-99 block, March 15. Cash was stolen from a restaurant. On March 27, a suspect was arrested. An Annapolis man, 29, was charged with theft and burglary. He was released on bond.
Murray Ave., 1-99 block, noon March 29 to 7 p.m. March 30. Cash and sunglasses were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Prince George St., 200 block, 9:30 p.m. March 31 to 10:15 a.m. April 1. A tote bag containing a computer speaker, a power cord and clothing was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Shipwright St., 1-99 block, noon Feb. 10 to 4 p.m. March 21. Three kayaks were stolen from a marina.
Westbridge Dr., 1900 block, 6 p.m. March 29 to 1 p.m. March 30. A laptop computer and a GPS device were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Westcott Pl., 7000 block, 12:43 p.m. April 2. A residence was entered by force. Extensive damage was caused.
Nightmist Ct., 10300 block, 8:33 a.m. March 27. A woman left a residence, stood on the porch, yelled obscenities and exposed herself. A Columbia woman, 71, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and harassment.
Macomber Lane, 9400 block, 11 p.m. March 27. Two boys pushed another boy on a footpath and took his shoes, cellphone and other property.
Bird Song Pass, 10800 block, 4:27 p.m. March 28. A bike was stolen from a garage.
Fruitgift Pl., 6500 block, noon to 12:45 p.m. March 31. A video game system and shoes were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked door.
Little Patuxent Pkwy., 10100 block, 3:19 a.m. March 31. Cigarettes, cigars and lottery tickets were stolen from a store entered by smashing a front glass door. An attempt was made to pry open an ATM.
Broken Land Pkwy. near Route 32, 5:36 p.m. March 30. A burgundy 2009 Range Rover SUV was stolen.
Cobblefield Dr., 8600 block, 11:20 p.m. March 31. A green 2005 Lincoln Aviator was stolen.
Cradlerock Way, 6700 block, 4:46 p.m. March 30. A green Kawasaki KX60 motorcycle was stolen.
Pirch Way, 6600 block, 11:32 p.m. March 31. Three people with guns attempted to enter a residence by kicking a front door. Entry was not gained.
Argent Path, 3100 block, 5 p.m. March 26 to 8:30 a.m. March 27. An attempt was made to enter a residence by breaking a kitchen window.
Plumtree Dr., 3400 block, 6:15 p.m. March 27. Two boys tried to enter a home through a window and were caught by a resident. Two Ellicott City males, 13 and 14, were arrested and charged with breaking and entering.
Hanover Rd., 6400 block, March 27 to 3:04 p.m. March 29. A residence was ransacked. Entry was gained by forcing a front door.
Clarksville Pike, 13900 block, noon to 3:55 p.m. April 1. Electronics and guns were stolen from a home entered through an unlocked door.
Stebbing Way, 9100 block, 1:40 a.m. April 2. A gunman searched someone’s pockets and fled empty-handed.
Covered Wagon, 9700 block, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 2. Electronics were stolen from a home entered through an unlocked window.
Lynn Buff Ct., 9500 block, 2:10 a.m. March 27. Two men entered a storage container. Two Laurel men, 51 and 33, were arrested and charged with second- and fourth-degree burglary.
Mary Lee Lane, 8300 block, 7:40 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. March 31. Jewelry and electronics were stolen from a home entered by forcing open a back door.
Barnet Ct., 2200 block, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 27. A residence was entered by breaking a window. Nothing was reported taken.
