This has been a month of heartache and tragedy around the United States, but in certain ways, Washington has remained relentlessly sunny.

Specifically, it has been sunny each Saturday this month. April 27, the last Saturday of the month, had plenty of sunshine. So did the three previous Saturdays.

April retains a reputation for showers, and Saturday rainfall has been reported this month at Reagan National Airport. But only on one Saturday, April 20. And even then, only .02 inch.

Sometimes April’s Saturdays have been breezy or chilly. Clouds have scudded overhead. But on average, weather service figures on cloud cover show that for this month’s Saturdays, blue skies have held their own.
