Dog that’s loose becomes loot: N. Gordon St., unit block, June 15. An owner had reported that her unrestrained dog was stolen. That evening, a good Samaritan brought the animal to the shelter as a stray.
Turkey calls: Queen St., 500 block; N. Pitt St., 200 block; and N. Union St., 400 block, June 14. Animal control received reports of wild turkeys spotted in the area. Callers were told that these animals do not pose any harm or immediate danger.
Trapped ducks rescued: S. Grant St., 3000 block, June 11. The league and the Arlington County Fire Department removed five mallard ducklings caught in a storm drain.
Sick raccoon euthanized: Army Navy Dr., 1700 block, June 17. An animal control officer captured an erratic raccoon that was spotted on a golf course.
