Arrest made in K Street corridor killing

A 33-year-old Suitland man has been arrested and charged in a homicide that occurred last March near Washington’s K Street corridor, D.C. police said.

They said Michael A. Smith has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Paul Aime Tanoh Danzo, 24, of Laurel.

Police have said the victim was killed early on March 21 in a car parked near the door of the Balleto nightclub at 17th and L Streets NW. They have said they thought Danzo had been a patron of the club.

Smith was arrested Thursday by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task force, police said. They said they are trying to identify and find another person who they think may be a person of interest.
