Biker robbed on Arlington trail

A man biking on the Custis trail in Arlington Tuesday night was knocked off his bike by two men who then stole his cell phone, Arlington County police said. They said one of the assailants had a gun.

The incident occurred shortly after 10:20 p.m., police said. They said the biker was taken to Virginia Hospital Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two assailants had blocked the path moments earlier when another biker was passing by, police said, but that person was able to get away.

Police said the men fled on foot. One of the men is described as white, about 25 years old , 5-foot-8 and 185 pounds, police said. He was wearing a dark, puffy winter jacket and dark pants. Police said the second man was described on as about 6-foot-tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark jacket and dark pants.
