As the Washington Capitals gear up for their season opener, single-game tickets are poised to go on sale this afternoon.

Ticket sales will begin Tuesday at 2 p.m. They will be available online at and by phone at 202-397-SEAT. Fans can also buy tickets in person at the Verizon Center, Kettler Capitals Iceplex and at any local Ticketmaster outlet.

Convenience fees on ticket purchases will be waived through Feb. 13, according to the organization.

The Capitals’ first game of the season is against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. They’ll go up against the Winnipeg Jets at the first home game of the season at the Verizon Center next Tuesday.
