The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington held its annual celebration Saturday of the Lady of Guadalupe, an icon of the Virgin Mary that is widely venerated by Catholics, especially in Mexico. There was a procession from the Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Washington to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, where a Mass was said.
