Cherry Blossom Festival events for March 30, 2014

Blossom Kite Festival: Participate in kite-making competitions, flight demonstrations by master kite makers from across the country, kite ballet performances and more. Washington Monument grounds, 17th Street & Constitution Avenue NW. Metro: Smithsonian. 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (Schedule is subject to change depending on weather.)

Cultural Performances at the Tidal Basin: Dance, music and entertainment on an intimate stage. Tidal Basin Welcome Area. 15th Street and Independence Avenue SW. Metro: Smithsonian.

Touch of Japan: View an exhibit of Japanese fans and small objects, sample teas and make a painted Japanese fan. 3-5 p.m. Sully Historic Site, 3650 Historic Sully Way, Chantilly, Va. $15.

Cherry Blossom Soccer Tournament: Adult, coed recreational soccer tournament with 40 teams competing for the Cherry Blossom Cup. 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Polo Fields on the National Mall/West Potomac Park, Ohio Drive and West Basin Drive SW. Metro: Smithsonian.
