Riva Rd., 2400 block, 6:51 p.m. Aug. 10. A man who implied that he had a weapon demanded cash from an employee behind a desk at a motel. When the employee walked away toward an office, the man fled empty-handed.


Fifth Ave., before 11:48 a.m. Aug. 11. A man tried to take a purse from a pedestrian, then stabbed a man walking with her when he intervened. After the assailant fled empty-handed, the victim was treated at a hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.


Solomons Island Rd. near Harwood Rd., 2:30 a.m. Aug. 12. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, which sped away from the scene. Kendrick Lamont Richardson, 37, of no fixed address, was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident. At 7:24 a.m., a 20-year-old Edgewater man surrendered to police. The vehicle determined to have been involved in the incident was seized.


Harlem Ave., 400 block, 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12. The body of Darius Keenan, 50, was found inside his home with a gunshot wound. A family member in possession of the victim’s vehicle was arrested in North Carolina later that day on traffic violations. Anne Arundel County was seeking extradition of the family member in connection with Keenan’s death.


Friendship Lane, 1000 block, 6:12 p.m. Aug. 13. During an argument in front of a house, a man shot a male acquaintance with a shotgun, then fled in a maroon sport-utility vehicle. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening. An investigation was continuing.

Bay Ridge Ave., 900 block, 6:05 p.m. Aug. 15. A gunman grabbed a woman walking with her child and ordered her to come with him. When she shouted for help, the assailant fled. An Annapolis man, 30, was arrested on charges that included attempted kidnapping, attempted armed robbery and second-degree assault.


Bens Dr., unit block, 1:15 a.m. Aug. 11. A woman stabbed a woman several times. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening. A Glen Burnie woman, 25, was arrested. Charges included first-degree assault.

Newtowne Dr., 700 block, 3:05 p.m. Aug. 10. Three people were stabbed during an altercation inside an apartment. An Annapolis man, 25, was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder and three counts of first-degree assault. No serious injuries were reported.


Bay Ridge Ave., 900 block, 10:35 p.m. Aug. 15. A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Hyde Park Dr., 1000 block, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 13. Cash, jewelry, digital media players and video game systems were among property stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked back door.

West St., unit block, 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. Aug. 11. A laptop computer was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Junction Dr., 9000 block, 7 p.m. Aug. 14 to 7 a.m. Aug. 15. A container of copper was stolen from a garage entered by force. Keys stolen from an office were used to move a vehicle. A forklift was used to move the container.


Allen Lane, 6600 block, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 14. An antique jar full of coins and a gold ring was stolen from a residence entered by removing a screen and prying open a window. A side door was damaged during the incident.

Buttonhole Ct., 6600 block, 3 p.m. Aug.12 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 13. A laptop computer was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked sliding-glass door.

Dobbin Center Way, 6400 block, 4:31 a.m. Aug. 13. A deli was entered by breaking a side window. Nothing was reported missing.

Indian Camp Rd., 9300 block, 6 p.m. Aug. 10 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 11. A shed was entered by breaking a lock. Nothing was reported missing.

Little Patuxent Pkwy., 11600 block, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 11 to 11:30 a.m. Aug.12. Snacks were stolen from a pool building entered by forcing a sliding door.

Ocean Shore Lane, 6500 block, 5:25 a.m. Aug. 13. A purse was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked garage door.

Rushlight Path, 5000 block, 6:41 a.m. Aug. 10. A man seen inside a car in a garage at a residence fled empty-handed when confronted.


Blacksmith Dr., 5000 block, 8:55 a.m. Aug. 11. A green 2000 Plymouth Neon was stolen.

Lapwing Ct., 9200 block, 7:54 a.m. Aug. 15. A 1999 Ford Expedition was stolen. It was recovered the same day at Cradlerock Farm Road and Cradlerock Way, where it had been abandoned after it struck a pole.

Satinwood Dr., 6200 block, 8:29 a.m. Aug. 8. A red 2008 Honda CR-V was stolen.


Linthicum Rd., 4600 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 11 to 12:40 p.m. Aug. 12. A Yamaha mini dirt bike and a leaf blower were stolen from an open garage.

Linthicum Rd., 4900 block, Aug. 10 to Aug. 11. A 2003 Yamaha motorcycle was stolen from an unlocked garage.


Iron Ore, 6700 block, 10:30 a.m. Aug. 11 to 3 a.m. Aug. 14. A laptop computer, headphones, cash and two bottles of cologne were stolen from an apartment entered by breaking a deadbolt lock.


Cluster Pines Ct., 3000 block, 1 to 1:17 p.m. Aug. 14. Two pistols, cash, a TV and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered through the front door.


Castlebar Dr., 13900 block, 8:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Aug. 13. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered through a garage window.


Bristol Ct., 8300 block, July 27 to 4 p.m. Aug. 5. A silver 2000 Honda Civic was stolen.


Canterbury Riding, 9200 block, 9:36 p.m. Aug. 13. Transmission fluid and a powder were poured on a floor in a vacant townhouse entered through a front window. Burn marks were found on the bathroom ceiling.

Lynn Buff Ct., 9500 block, 9:29 a.m. Aug. 10. Two break-ins were reported at a storage facility.


Freestate Dr., 8800 block, 12:47 P.M. Aug. 8. A silver 1999 Mercedes C430 was stolen.

Stebbing Way, 9000 block, 3:40 a.m. Aug. 15. A 1997 Dodge Caravan was stolen. It was recovered at Old Lantern Way and Bourbon Street. Its rear seats were missing.

Washington Blvd., 9900 block, 10:40 a.m. Aug. 10. A 2005 Mercedes was stolen from a courthouse parking lot.


Watersville Rd. W., 600 block, 6:43 p.m. Aug. 13. Silver coins were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked sliding-glass door. Just before the theft was discovered, an occupant confronted a man walking from the house to a vehicle parked in the driveway. The man said that he was looking for the owner of a dog he had almost hit. He drove away.


Woodward St., 8100 block, 10 p.m. Aug. 13. An attempt was made to enter a residence by forcing a back door. Nothing was reported missing.


Chester Way, 10500 block, 10 p.m. July 27 to 5:30 a.m. July 28. A tote bag, sunglasses, a bottle of vodka and a softball bat were stolen from a vehicle in an unlocked garage.
