Ritchie Hwy., 4300 block, 7:05 p.m. March 11. A masked male demanded cash from a liquor store clerk and fled on foot with cash.


Honeysuckle Lane, 1100 block, 6 a.m. March 12. A taxi van with its engine running was found in the 1100 block of Honeysuckle Lane. Police found blood inside and evidence of a struggle. The body of taxi driver Benjamin Delano Kirby Jr., 41, of Annapolis was found on a driveway near Honeysuckle Lane and Generals Highway. He had upper body trauma. An investigation was continuing.


Old Stage Rd., 300 block, 10 p.m. March 12. A man pointed a shotgun at a female acquaintance and other people inside a residence during an argument. The other people took the shotgun away. The man then showed a knife and cut his female acquaintance on the hand. He fled on foot. A Glen Burnie man, 21, was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and weapons violations. The female was taken to a hospital.


Annapolis Rd., 2700 block, 12:37 a.m. March 12. Two masked males fled from a car dealership’s lot after a business alarm was triggered. One of the males ran to a red 2005 Chevrolet Corvette on Ballentine Way, which had been stolen from the dealership. He drove toward a police officer. Another officer fired at the car, whose driver continued driving on Route 295. It was unknown whether the driver was injured by the gunshot. A silver 2007 Mercedes Benz CL 550 was also stolen from the business. The officer who fired the shot was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

Arundel Mills Blvd., 7000 block, 10:11 p.m. March 8. Fireworks were set off inside a juice bottle at a movie theater, causing 325 customers to be evacuated. One person was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.


Railroad Ave., 7400 block, 7:45 p.m. Oct. 31. Rene Filsfdelfo Leiva-Archila, 44, of Baltimore was shot in the upper body during an attempted robbery when he went to meet a male advertising a car for sale online. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. On March 7, a Millersville man, 34, was arrested and indicted by a grand jury on charges of first- and second-degree murder, manslaughter, armed robbery, use of a firearm in a felony, use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence and possession of a shotgun after having been convicted of a crime of violence.


Solomons Island Rd., 4400 block, 10:20 a.m. March 13. An unloaded shotgun was found in the bed of a student’s truck on the campus of a high school. There was also a shotgun shell and an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. The student was not authorized to park on campus and was suspected of being intoxicated at school. A Lothian male, 16, was cited in connection with underage alcohol possession and possession of a deadly weapon on school property.


Great Bend Rd., 8200 block, 6:10 a.m. Dec. 30. A man was hit on the head and robbed of a wallet while walking on a street.

Veterans Hwy., 8000 block, morning of Dec. 24. Two males assaulted a man and robbed him of cash. On March 11, a 16-year-old Glen Burnie male was arrested in connection with this robbery and the one listed above. For the Dec. 24 incident, he was charged with robbery, second-degree assault and theft. For the Dec. 30 incident, he was charged with robbery, first-degree assault and theft.


Fort Smallwood and Hilltop roads, 10:15 p.m. March 12. Three males in a red Volkswagen sedan robbed a male pedestrian of cash at knifepoint. They fled in the vehicle.

Bens Dr., 1-99 block, 8:20 p.m. March 12. A woman arrived home and found her apartment door ajar. Inside, she found a man who said he was leaving. When the resident told him she had called police, he said he wouldn’t leave, displayed a gun and pushed her down. He fled before police arrived.

Forest Dr. near Newtowne Dr., 5:15 p.m. March 8. A motorcycle rider rammed a police car from behind and kicked the vehicle while an officer was photographing him and motorcycle riders driving recklessly. When additional officers arrived, he fled and crashed the motorcycle in the 900 block of Spa Road. An Annapolis man, 28, was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, destruction of property, trespassing, theft of a motor vehicle and several traffic violations. The motorcycle was found to be stolen from Baltimore.


Acton Pl., 1-99 block, 1 p.m. March 7 to 9 a.m. March 9. A residential front door was forced open.

Bloomsbury Sq., 300 block, 12:01 a.m. Feb. 28 to noon March 8. Two shotguns were stolen from a home. There was no sign of forced entry.

Church Cir., 1-99 block, 9 to 10:15 p.m. March 4. Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Hillsmere Dr., 100 block, 8 a.m. Feb. 17 to 3 p.m. March 11. A voltage regulator, a solar and wind charging system controller and a battery charger were stolen from a store.

Madison St., 900 block, 7:30 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. March 5. An unlocked front window was opened at a home.

Parole St., 1-99 block, 4 p.m. Feb. 28 to noon March 8. A bike was stolen from a shed entered by force.

West St., 1700 block, 6 p.m. March 1 to 7:30 a.m. March 4. A tire and a wheel were stolen from an Acura.


Town Pines Ct., 1-99 block, 9 p.m. March 10. A gray 2003 Lincoln Town Car with a suspended registration — which had been left unlocked with the key in the ignition since February — was observed by a friend of the owner being driven by a stranger. At 10 p.m. that night, police attempted to stop the driver for the registration in the 500 block of South Cherry Grove Avenue. The driver continued to the 800 block of Betsy Court, then fled on foot. Police contacted the owner, who said it had been stolen.

Tamar Dr., 6000 block, 5:56 p.m. March 12. A male assaulted another male and demanded his cash and phone. Nothing was reported taken.

Twin River Rd., 10400 block, 11:50 a.m. March 10. Four males assaulted another male and took his backpack.


Commitment Ct., 6100 block, 4:19 p.m. March 6. A residential door was found unlocked.

Harmel Dr., 10800 block, 11 p.m. March 8 to 11:21 a.m. March 9. A residence under construction was entered by breaking windows and damaging a door. Nothing was reported taken.

River Run, 6400 block, 8:15 a.m. to 5:40 p.m. March 6. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a rear sliding door.


Hingston Downs, 9600 block, 7:14 p.m. March 7. A blue 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle was stolen.


Nightwind Ct., 8000 block, 7 p.m. March 8 to 10:57 a.m. March 9. A motorcycle was stolen from a garage entered through an unlocked door.

Valley Oak Dr., 7700 block, March 8 to March 10. Someone unlocked a window.

Washington Blvd., 9400 block, 5 p.m. March 7 to 8:30 a.m. March 10. An attempt was made to enter a business by prying a rear garage door.


Green Tree Ct., 8000 block, 12:23 a.m. March 9. A Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle was stolen.


Wheaton Way, 3100 block, 1 p.m. Jan. 15 to 4:30 p.m. March 10. Golf clubs, shoes and other property were stolen from a storage locker.


Red Jacket Way, 8000 block, 3 p.m. March 10 to 4 a.m. March 11. A silver 1998 Honda Civic was stolen.


Blues Alley, 9100 block, 8:50 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 10. Electronics, shoes and jewelry were stolen from a home entered by cutting a window screen.


Route 32, 800 block, mid-February to March 10. Copper pipes were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a glass door.
