Two people were assaulted Friday inside a community center in Northwest Washington just north of Georgetown, authorities said.
According to police, the man entered the Guy Mason recreation center at Wisconsin Avenue and Calvert Street NW and accused the two of taking his belongings.
He put his hands around the throat of one of them, lifted her and slammed her into a file cabinet. The other person was pushed against a wall.
The man also allegedly threw a coffee pot, punched glass in a door, knocked over chairs and pulled a telephone from a wall. He attacked the first victim again, throwing her across a floor, police said.
