An explosion at 17th and L streets Northwest in the District was reported Wednesday morning.
Authorities said it appears to be related to an underground transformer that blew in front of a coffee shop. No one was injured, according to the D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department., and police said there are no street closures at 17th and L.
Tim Wilson, a spokesman for the fire agency, said a small fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters. The incident occurred about 7:30 a.m.
