A robber who left a trail of cash behind him as he fled from a Clarendon bank is wanted by authorities, an Arlington County police spokesman said.
The man walked into a Wilson Boulevard TD Bank about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and approached a teller with a note. In the note, he implied that he had a handgun but a weapon was not displayed, said Dustin Sternbeck, an Arlington County police spokesman.
The man demanded an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot, according to an FBI news release.
But in his getaway, Sternbeck said the man — who ran from the bank with cash tucked inside a bag and in his hands — dropped some of the money on the sidewalk.
He headed toward an adjacent neighborhood, Sternbeck said.
