Police arrested a Rockville man who they say bound a bank employee’s arms and legs before forcing him into the trunk of a car and robbing the bank.
Michael Patrick, 45, of the 1200 block of Autre Court, was charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count of kidnapping, according to Montgomery County police.
Police said that on Oct. 29 after 9 a.m., a robber confronted an employee from the SunTrust Bank in the 1400 block of Rockville Pike in a parking garage. The employee had just come back to the parking garage after opening the bank that day.
Police said the robber forced the man into a vehicle at gunpoint. The pair then went to the victim’s car, where the assailant took some personal property.
The assailant, returning to his own car, then bound the victim’s arms and legs and placed him in the trunk, according to Montgomery County police.
Police said the assailant then drove to the SunTrust bank and took the victim out of the car. He forced the victim to enter the bank using his keys. Once inside, police said, the robber confronted a second employee and took money from the cash drawer before fleeing the scene.
Police said Patrick has also been charged with two armed robberies that occurred at the Dollar Tree in the 1700 block of East Jefferson Street in Rockville. One robbery was in August and another was in October.
