Body found under snow on Southeast Washington sidewalk

District police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Thursday afternoon covered with snow on a Southeast Washington sidewalk, according to authorities.

Officer Paul Metcalf, a D.C. police spokesman, said the discovery was made shortly before 12:45 p.m. in the 2400 block of Shannon Place SE., two blocks from the Anacostia Metro station.

Police said the body was that of an adult male andMetcalf added the body had not yet been identified. Homicide detectives are investigating, as is routine in such deaths.
