Prince George’s police have identified the man who died in a fatal crash Tuesday in Seat Pleasant as 88-year-old Alphonso Mitchell.
The Capitol Heights man suffered a medical emergency at about 10:25 a.m. while driving his station wagon near Central Avenue and Addison Road, police said. He crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into a tow truck, authorities said. He died shortly after being transported to the hospital.
A passenger with Mitchell was seriously hurt after Mitchell lost control of the car, police said. The tow truck driver was not hurt and a passenger in the two truck sustained minor injuries, authorities said.
