Coach in Montgomery charged with sex abuse

A 30-year-old Montgomery County man hired by parents as a private tutor and athletic coach has been charged with sex abuse for inappropriate contact with a teenage girl, authorities said Tuesday.

Daniel Mandel Sirotkin, of Autumn Harvest Court in Germantown, coached and tutored students from several from several private and public schools in the Bethesda and Potomac areas. He is specifically charged with two counts of sex abuse of a minor and three counts of third-degree sex offense.

Investigators said Sirotkin has been tutoring and coaching for several years, and said that parents can reach the Family Crimes Division at 240-773-5400.
