The southbound lanes of Interstate 95 were closed Sunday evening after a crash and fire near the border between Howard and Prince George’s counties.

The fire involved a tractor-trailer carrying produce. Two people were injured, said Mark E. Brady, spokesman for the Prince George’s fire department.

The incident occurred about 8:15 p.m. While the southbound lanes were closed, cars were being sent back via a crossover.

As of 10 p.m., two southbound lanes of the highway had been reopened, the Maryland State Police said.
